About Us
Amblii is a collective of artists, designers, and storytellers from the worlds of architecture, mass media, fashion, and design — bound by a shared love for how clothing can shape emotion, movement, and self-expression.
We create fits for everyday comfort, using only natural dyes and sustainable fabrics, chosen not just for how they feel on the skin but for how they honour the earth. Each Amblii piece is thoughtfully made — a slow response to a fast world. Designed to flow with your every move, our clothes are meant to dwell your moments with you.
Every collection is a quiet dialogue between function and feeling — clothing that doesn’t ask for attention but earns it through presence, softness, and flow. We design for real life — the kind where comfort becomes a rhythm, style, and nature.
Comfort, for us, is culture - it’s our way of living.
Our mission
Our mission is to bring local art-style clothing to people’s wardrobes, and our vision is to be as sustainable as we can while we’re at it.
Founders Brief
Amblii is founded by Marian Alphonso, is an architect pursuing masters in Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Her design journey began in the artisanal heartlands of India—watching weavers, potters, and embroiderers turn earth and thread into objects of quiet beauty. Born to a family with Malayali and Goan heritage, her childhood was shaped by hand-made rituals and the intimate knowledge of material passed down through generations.
Marian grew up with an intuitive sense of material honesty—watching artisans work with mud, thread, and fiber, and learning that design was not just about building, but about belonging. Her early fascination with the rituals of craft led her across the world, but the idea of "home" remained fluid. In Australia, where she is pursuing her Master of Architecture at Deakin University, Marian sought to reconnect with the fragments of her origins. Her work began to gather meaning from land and memory, evolving into more than design—it became a practice of care.
Her installation “Grains of Land”—featured in the 2025 Venice Biennale’s Australian Pavilion—used pine needles, wallaby grass, and terracotta to echo the lives of craftspeople and their connection to land. It was not just an artwork, but a tribute.
With Amblii, Marian extends this philosophy to clothing. Every piece reflects her respect for slowness, soil, and the invisible hands behind the work. In a world rushing toward the new, she creates for those drawn to the timeless.
